Recovering a part of the lost identity of Iranian language and culture, the Abbasid period is considered to have played an important role in Persian language and history. The Nationalist movement came to its maximum power in this period. The Nationalists tried to prove the Iranian talent the ancient Persian civilization through a direct conflict by sword or pen. Although both politics faced a systematic failing, they had a massive influence on the recreation and maturity of ancient Persian language and culture.
Abban Ibn Abd al-Hamid Laheqi ,originally from an Iranian stock, and Arabic speaking , among all, played a substantial role in this course, versifying many important Arabic works of history, epic, ethics and education related to Pre-Islamic Iran like Kalila wa Dimna, Anoshirvan ‘s Biography , karnameh e Ardeshir, Book of Mazdak(mardak), Sandbadnameh and Bloher wa boozasf.
The present study seeks to understand Abban’s basic motives to versify the books belonging to ancient Iran, having a glance at his biography and artistic background.
Abban seems to have intended, like Ibn al-Muqaffa’ and many other Abbasid period Persian patriots, to renew the ancient Persian dogma and culture through Arabic Language.

Hariri’s Maqamat is one of Arabic cultural and literary works in the field of social aspects of life and linguistic characteristics and language games, as well as on narrative aspects of fictions. Avoidance from pure verbal and historical topics and from mere attention to rhetorical techniques in this work, on one hand, and the tendency to survey and follow the narration on the other hand can provide a basis for a new and active view to this work. Suspense as one of the fundamental elements of fiction has a notable role through a special mechanism. Processing of suspense in Hariri’s Maqamat is not only limited to the aspects of narration, but also extends to its special quality of language and its prominent literary values. Furthermore, the increasing delay at the level of the meaning and the plot advance introduce a special type of suspense in this work. This paper studies these various aspects of the suspense mechanism in Hariri’s Maqamat and demonstrates that the linguistic suspense is obviously dominant and prevalent through this work compared to narrative suspense.

Are aleph and hamzeh considered two different letters or two figures of the same letter in Arabic? In this respect, there are two different views: Some scholars believe that Arabic alphabet consists of 28 letters, while some maintain that it consists of 29 letters. The other issue is concerned with the spelling of aleph. It is spelled in three different shapes in Arabic: “ا”, as in ‘دعا’, “ی” as in ‘رمی’, and “و” as in ‘صلوه’. It should be mentioned that aleph in some words is spelt but not pronounced, and, conversely, in some cases is pronounced without being spelt. Such variations in the form and function of aleph have caused problems for those who write in both Arabic and Persian. This paper has intended to achieve the following objectives:
1. Identification of aleph and its place among the Arabic alphabet;
2. Clarification of the right spelling of aleph in Arabic and Persian by relying on valid books on grammar and syntax, sticking to Arabic and Persian spelling regulations, and following the mainstream authors and literary figures.
3. Compilation of spelling regulations concerning aleph in a comprehensive manner and easy to learn; and explaining about the similarities and differences among Arabic and Persian spelling of aleph for those who write in both languages.

Since the beginning of the nineteenth century onward , Arabic Drama has preserved a close relation to the Heritage. One of the most famous dramas s using the classical elements is “al-Malik Howa-l-Malik” ( the King is The King) written by the Syrian dramatist “Sa’dallah Wannous”. In composing this drama ,he has been inspired by one of One Thousand and One Nights fables namely “an-Naim wa-l- Yaghzan” (Asleep one and Awake one). This paper aims to analyze the function of heritage and steps of its changes in this drama . The paper considers all dramatic elements of the play, including the plot, theme, characters, words, dialogue etc.. Moreover, it discusses how the heritage has been utilized in this piece of work. Among various references used by drama composers are the literary works, especially narrative ones. These works often possess many characteristics of a technical play. The design of a drama can begin with one of these three references: 1) “content” which can be portrayed, 2) “source” which can be expanded, 3) “characters” which can be involved dramatically. Using a descriptive and analytic method, this paper is to study the drama design and dramatization criteria in three Maqamas of Hariri’s Maqamat .
Dramatizing a fiction means using its dramatic potential nature and privileges and removing its shortages and defects and rewriting the fiction in a manner more proportional to the new time and place. Hariri’s Maqamat (495-504 lunar) consists of fifty drama-like narratives; short narratives with a specific topic and theme, and a literary unit written according to the real life of people and using imaginary characters and drama-like dialogues.
Studying three Maqamas of Hariri’s Maqamat, the paper comes to the idea that they have dramatic theme, outcome, characters and situations, as well as dramatic dialogues and conflict, and so they are valuable sources for dramatization and creation of new themes in new situations.
