Abstract
Paul Worth's text world approach, emphasizing the mental structures hidden in the text, sees it as an independent world with its own rules and internal structures. This approach helps to better understand the meaning and message hidden in the text by analyzing the relationships between different elements of the text such as characters, places and events. The three worlds of text, discourse and subtext are its basis. This article uses the discourse analysis approach to investigate the structure and meaning of the 91st sermon of Imam Ali (P.B.H), which is known as the Ashbah Sermon. With the aim of applying the concept of Polworth's (1999) discourse worlds, this essay deals with the multiple layers of meaning and interconnected concepts hidden in the text, which are identified by examining the key elements that make up these worlds, such as characters, themes of the text. The question of the research is how the process of the world of the text creates meaning in the framework of Worth's approach by creating harmony between the different worlds of the text. In addition, this paper examines the relationships between these discursive worlds and how they contribute to the coherence and overall meaning of the sermon. The findings reveal a multifaceted text that transcends simple religious discourse and provides deep insight into the nature of existence, human purpose, and the divine. This sermon is divided into different discourse worlds that mainly focus on existence and creation and the place of man in the world. The world of human discourse deals with the role of man in the world, his relationship with God and his moral obligations. This world emphasizes the concept of free will, the importance of faith and worship, and the ultimate destiny of humanity.
