Abstract
Maslow, one of the most prominent psychologists of the humanistic school, examines the hierarchy of human needs to examine the best human example. He considers the crystallization of the human self at the highest possible level in the level of self-fulfillment of human needs, which is one of its components as the peak experience and has characteristics such as the negation of self and egoism, integrity and unity in life, movement towards human perfection and spiritual values and transcendence, transformation of love into meaning, spiritual attraction and inner satisfaction. The study of this component in the characters of literary works, especially Arabic novels that deal with the layers of personality, is significant. Therefore, this study has attempted to examine the Maslowian peak experience in the main characters - Shahab and Elizabeth in the novel "Elizabeth in Karbala" by contemporary Arab novelist Muhammad Siddiq, using a descriptive and analytical method. The results of the study indicate that the characters of Shahab and Elizabeth are symbols of contemporary humans thirsting for meaning in the secular world. And the marriage of the two together is a symbol of the unity of man with his divine half, and the unity of the inside and outside of the two, which is the peak of the experience, is when they consider coming together a gift from Imam Hussein (AS). The experience of Shahab and Elizabeth is a special example of the peak experience of the Mazlui of Husseini love. The moment-by-moment movement towards reaching the peak of mystical and spiritual experience is when they ask Imam Hussein (AS), who is the essence of divine guidance, to reach and attain the religion of Hussein and the Lord of Hussein.
